Seasons Review 2024

With a new group of coaches in place for the season and a group of 25 players with some or no experience of senior football. From 15 to 33yrs of age. The majority of the squad being under 21 including 3 new players from Landvetters junior team.

 After an initial assessment of the group, and the teams league standing the season before . we set a target of being again at higher end of the division and eventual promotion.

Training had been focused on team building , intensity, building an effective press.. doing the hard yards with out the ball for the team. With an emphasis on player conduct towards team mates and officials.

 A coaching decision was made to start with a 4-4-1-1 system and build with a solid defensive foundation due to the lack of experience I key areas.

 We played 4 training matches before the season we varied results, but with enough positive signs to be confident of a competitive season.

 The first half of the campaign was filled with more positives than negatives and coupled even with non available players and injures.
We were more than competitive in all matches bar one. A combination of poor finishing and lack of concentration cost the team at key times, losing games by the odd goal .
 We Finished the spring with P7 W2 L5 ( but  with a plus goal difference )

We started to have a core focus in training, but gradually started to introduce a more drive/focus in training/drills/games on players mental strength and how they perceive and think in certain situations as an individual and team.

 Going into the autumn we were still optimistic with a highly competitive league at we could still make a challenge for promotion. Enough had been shown in glimpses in the spring.

 With a loss and awful display in the first game back and season ending injury to Jimmy Lundqvist a reassessment was needed.

 We changed system to 3-5-2 and the group clicked winning the next 6 games on the bounce and still in with an outside chance of a play off going into the last weeks of the campaign.

 2024 lates the foundations for a successful campaign in 2025 and already secured a couple of new additions for the upcoming season.
